The RCWC, originally founded in 1956: "...to create a bridge between town and gown" (Elizabeth Hirsch); "Their first lecture series in 1958, "Symphonic Heritage of Twentieth-Century Music" was a benefit for the college's music program." "...The RCWC has become an institution in itself, evolving for almost four decades in an unusual symbiotic relationship with the College."
