Masonic Lodge ephemera for J.M. Pipe, 1913-1946
Scope and Contents
The Monteith and Pipe Family Papers consist of a copy of the will of Isabella Monteith (1825), a Land Abstract patented by Walter Monteith (1865), various real estate documents, checks, etc. The Papers also have a copy of the law suit between the Trustees of Albany College (later Lewis and Clark College), vs Monteith and Pipe et al. 1913). News clippings and photographs illustrating the early history of Albany, Oregon are part of the papers as well.
Additionally, there are the income tax returns for J.V. and Lottie (Charlotte) Pipe, (1915- 1925), and income tax returns for John M. Pipe (1931, 1936, 1937, 1939-1959. The Papers include correspondence: U.S. Veteran’s Administration, Bank of Montreal, Masonic Lodge, Christine Pipe, as well as notices of deaths in the Monteith and Pipe families, 1876-1959.
There are also genealogy reports: “Earldom of Monteith” (1918), World War II (Two) ration book and pamphlet.
