Biographical/Historical
Born October 1, 1960, Audrey Bilger currently serves as the 16th president of Reed College. Before her presidency, Bilger earned a BA in Philosophy from Oklahoma State University and later an MA and Ph.D. in English from the University of Virginia. She later served on the English faculty of Oberlin College and later as a professor of Literature at Claremont McKenna. She also served as vice president and was dean of the college at Pomona College. She served on the Committee of Scholars and was the Gender and Sexuality section editor of The Los Angeles Review of Books. Her work has also appeared in Ms., The Paris Review, The San Francisco Chronicle, and The Los Angeles Times.
In 2019 Bilger became the president of Reed College. Bilger’s spouse, Cheryl Pawelski, is a 2-time Grammy-award winning producer and co-founder of Omnivore Recordings.
