Scope and Contents
The Alexander Goldenweiser Papers consist of his Iroquois Field Notes, transcriptions of Iroquois, lists of Iroquois Chiefs, lists of Iroquois botanical terms, and genealogical and clan name lists. In addition, the Papers include Goldenweiser’s notes from classes he 2 attended at Columbia University with Franz Boas, along with drafts of scholarly papers and books, many of his published works, including illustrations, reviews of works done by others, as well as correspondence from Andrew Lang, Vladimir Iokhel’son [aka Valdemar Johchelson], and R.R. Marett. The Papers also include catalog cards of Goldenweiser’s library at the time of his death.
